Wilfried Gonon

Born in Bourg-en-Bresse, Wilfried Gonon discovered theatre at the age of 10 through actor, mime, and director Jean-Michel Debarbat—an encounter that shaped his artistic path. He began training in 2012 at Cours Florent with Benoit Guibert and Anaïs Simon, before continuing in Lyon at Arts en Scène and ATRE with Mohamed Brikat and Alain Maratrat. He holds an RNCP Level III qualification as an actor and further developed his craft through Meisner and Lecoq techniques at M2M, later refining his skills with the Lee Strasberg method at LAPA Paris.

He first performed classical repertoire (Molière, Racine, Shakespeare) before moving into contemporary theatre with Comment j’aimais Tchernobyl and À coucher dehors. He also explored immersive theatre (Cyrano de Bergerac, Sherlock Holmes) and performed with the Opéra de Lyon in The Enchantress and The Golden Cockerel. Alongside theatre, he appeared in several short films, including Matin Brun and 2 Minutes, both award-winning at international festivals, as well as in film and television.

As a director, he has led a range of projects, including Grâce by Kelly Espalargas, currently on tour, and has served as artistic director of the GOAT acting competition since 2024. He also works as an acting coach. As an actor, he performed in Un Monde idéal (directed by Anne Bouvier) at Théâtre Tête d’Or and on tour in Switzerland.

He directed Entre mère et ciel by Laetitia Moréni in Paris. In 2026, he stars in La Presse est unanime by Laurent Ruquier, directed by Anthony Marty, at Théâtre Tête d’Or, before a tour starting in September.
