Born in Geneva in 1976, Mathieu Ziegler initially trained as an engineer and worked on the design of digital sound recorders before moving on to the Serge Martin Theatre School.
In theatre, he has worked with Jérôme Junod, Claudia Bosse, Marielle Pinsard, Oskar Gómez Mata, Gabriel Alvarez, José Ponce, Perrine Valli, Serge Martin, Julie Annen, Eric Devanthéry, Myriam Boucris, Jérôme Richer, Stefan Kaegi, Fanny Brunet and Olivia Csiky-Trnka, among others.
On television, he has appeared in the series Port d'attache (Anne Deluz), Frieden (Michael Schaerer) and Cellule de crise (Jacob Berger). In cinema, he played the lead role in Milky Way by Cyril Bron and Joseph Incardona, and was recently seen as a German legionnaire in Legio Patria Nostra, a short film about the Indochina War by Kévin Favillier.
He is currently preparing for the creation of Mehdi Duman's Une fondue dans la neige and is conducting extensive documentary research for a solo theatre piece on the Anthropocene and planetary boundaries.
